19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
