Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.
My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
