The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California aged 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The celebrated video game developer died after his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.
